History of Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone has been inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Shoshone and Blackfeet, for over 11,000 years. European explorers first documented the area in the early 19th century, with reports of its geysers and hot springs sparking curiosity. In 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed the law establishing Yellowstone as the first national park, preserving its natural wonders for future generations.

The park's creation set a global precedent for conservation. Over time, it became a haven for wildlife and a center for geothermal research. Today, Yellowstone is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of America's commitment to preserving its natural heritage.
